Keep Your Pecker Up!

Following on from her debut performance at The Camden Fringe Festival, The Vault is delighted to be hosting Ellie Powell’s one-woman show ‘Keep Your Pecker Up!’ on April 10th 2015 at The Quadrant.

Based on the life of Ellie’s grandmother Eileen, a theatrical costumier during the 40’s, the show is compiled of a series of hilarious and sometimes heart-breaking anecdotes not just about the stars that she met, but also the reality of what life was like during the Blitz.

“People don’t seem to understand how unique my Nan is. All of her peers went to work in the factories but she wanted to chase her dreams of working in showbiz. The fact that my Nan was an East End girl getting an opportunity to meet such mega stars of her time is truly amazing”, says Ellie.

Entertaining, emotional and filled with Cockney charm, Keep your Pecker Up! uses storytelling and classic war time songs to take you back to a time when community spirit thrived and romance still had a sense of innocence.

So, dust down your tea dresses, start pinning those victory rolls and get ready to step back in time for an evening of war-time nostalgia at The Vault, complete with bar, vintage salon and pop up photo booth.
